    Hi Wayde,

    What you might want to try is to add the buttons you want on the left, add a SpringPanel SmartItem and then another button which should then be on the far right.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello,

    The EndEdit method is located on the CellRow (DataRow in this case) class. For example:

    Dim row As DataRow = gridControl1.DataRows.AddNew()
    ‘ Do what you want with the row
    row.EndEdit()

    As for losing the designer support, this is normal behavior since the Grid Designer itself uses an instance of the GridControl class and not your custom class derived from the GridControl class.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello,

    When you call AddNew, you need to make sure that you call EndEdit (or AddNew again) otherwise the DataRow will not be added to the grid.

    Hello,

    Yes, printing support has been improved. The biggest improvement is printing ranges of pages (which version 1.1 supported in a very limited manner).

    At least one sample will also be included in the pacakge that demonstrates all the printing possibilities.

    in reply to: Help on row color #12754

    Hello,

    Although the solution provided would work, the order of the backcolor of the datarows would change when the grid is sorted. I would suggest you use the DataRowTemplateStyles property instead to alternate the color of the DataRows. For example:

    gridControl1.DataRowTemplateStyles.Add( new VisualGridElementStyle() );
    gridControl1.DataRowTemplateStyles.Add( new VisualGridElementStyle() );

    gridControl1.DataRowTemplateStyles[ 0 ].BackColor = Color.White;
    gridControl1.DataRowTemplateStyles[ 1 ].BackColor = Color.Yellow;

    The code above assumes that the BackColor property of the DataRowTemplate is NOT set. If it is set, then all the rows will have the backcolor of the DataRowTemplate regardless of the backcolors specified via the DataRowTemplateStyles.

    More information can be found here: http://doc.xceedsoft.com/products/gridNet/doc/sources/datarowtemplate_styles.htm

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Buggi,

    Xceed Zip for .NET is PkZip 2.04g compatible. This means that it can only extract the contents of zip files created with version 2.04g or up. It will unfortunately not be able to extract the contents of older zip files.

    Keep in mind that the forums are here so that developers can share ideas and knowledge. If you require a fast response from technical support, you should send them an email directly to support@xceedsoft.com.

    in reply to: Arkanoid :) #12733

    Hi Nick!

    I’m glad to see that you enjoyed the game! I was actually the one who did the coding in Arkanoid so I will be able to give you a starting point if you want to change the sample code to includes your ideas.

    First of all, you will need to add values in the BlockTypeEnum (you can find it in the ArkanoidEnumerations.cs file) for each type of block you want to add. The class that interests you is the BlockCell class. It is derived from the DataCell class of the grid. It is in charge of painting the block, checking to see if a block is destroyed, and so on. You can change the appearance of a block, depending on your new block types, in the PaintForeground event. As for changing the ball’s behavior, you will do that in the Hit method. This method is called by the Ball class. (which is in charge of painting the ball, make it move) You will probably need to add some parameters to the method to inform the ball what to do. You already have the direction and other parameters but you are missing one if you want to change the ball speed. (this method is actually implemented by the IHit interface so you will have to update every class that implement it)

    I hope this will help you achieve your goal!

    in reply to: Self-Extract file #41829

    Hi Dirk,

    You can create a self-extracting zip file that contains encrypted files. This is done by setting the EncryptionPassword property to the desired password when creating the self-extracting zip file. You can alos provide a different password for each file in the zip file via the ZipPreprocessingFile event.

    Keep in mind that the encryption algorithm used by the Xceed Zip Compression Library is the same one used by the PKZip 2.04g program.

    This type of encryption can resist attacks by amateurs if the password is well chosen and long enough (at least 16 characters) but it will probably not resist attacks by determined users or experts. Therefore, we suggest that you always use long passwords, and when possible, do not rely solely on this encryption system to protect sensitive data.

    The Xceed Zip Compression Library does not support AES encryption.

    Hello,

    The grid can have more than one selected row. To access the selected rows, you can consult the grid’s SelectedRows property.

    Keep in mind that the current row is not necessarily selected. If you want to access the current row, then you can consult the grid’s CurrentRow property.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Dirk,

    We understand your situation and already have a feature request to add support for the WinZip split format in a future possible release of Xceed Zip.

    The .NET version of Xceed Zip already has this feature built-in.

    Hi Dirk,

    This is normal behavior. The SplitSize property is native to the Xceed Zip control. You will only be able to extract the contents of the split zip file using the Xceed Zip Compression Library (v4.x).

    For a possible workaround, please refer to the following knowledge base article:
