I’m using a rating control with IconType=”Custom”.  I was able to figure out a CustomPath by looking at the example of the lighting bolt in the Live Explorer. The CustomPath looks like this.

     M 0,19 L 35,39 24,45 55,63 47,68 100,100 67,58 75,54 51,32 58,28 39,0 z

Through trial and error, I was able to determine that the z at the end connects the last point to the first point, and it doesn’t work at all without the M on the front, but it does work without the L.  My question is, what are the M and the L actually there for? I have been unable to find any detailed information on this property..

    Hi,

The Rating.CustomPath property is string to specify how the path.Data of the RatingItem will look like.

How to set this path is the regular Microsoft way. Here is the Microsoft documentation :
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt185585.aspx

M : the Starting Point of a figure
L : Line from current point to specific point
Z : Connect current point to first point.
