    Hi,

    I’ve just downloaded the Xceed activex components as a trial to see if the encyption activex is suitable for use with Delphi 6.

    Having installed the activex, I’ve taken a look at the delphi samples provided… but on trying to compile/run I get the following error:

    “cannot assign to a read-only property” … this seems to refer to an assignment to the encryptionmethod property.

    Is anyone able to shed any light on what may be causing this with the sample, and also does anyone have any comments with regard to use of this encryption active-x with Delphi 6?

    Thanks very much for any help you can provide

    Jeremy

    This is usually caused by the wrappers created by Delphi. Sometimes, when Delphi creates the wrapper, the “write SetIDispatchProp” is not included.

    For example, you may have the following code:

    property EncryptionMethod: IDispatch index 300 read GetIDispatchProp;

    You need to add “write SetIDispatchProp” at the end of the line:

    property EncryptionMethod: IDispatch index 300 read GetIDispatchProp write SetIDispatchProp;
