Complaint,
Below I have posted my email exchange with the technical support of the Xceed. I have downloaded a trail version and spent three days evaluating the Grid component. I have found a number of issues that needed to be addressed. I have posted a list of questions (below) and received a none-replay replay, answers that showed me a lack of any commitment. Presently, I am being ignored by the company and it appears that the time I spent on this product has been wasted.

I didn’t get help with any of the questions below; I can’t believe you have no examples for the question 1 and 2. Regarding the question 3; you have referred me to the same KB i have included in my question. If you think it is a jock think again. If I am investing my time to evaluate your product you should, at the very least, be serious about the support.

1. We do not have any samples that will demonstrate how to do this. You will have to override the Cell class and paint what you wish.
2. See answer #1.
3. We have this only in a sample : http://www.xceedsoft.com/kb/result.asp?id=446

Subject: Re: (Case 74874) LicenseThanks, I got it. I have a couple of questions;
1. How can I prevent the Header Row bounderies from being displayed? I want
the header row aera to be plane with no lines. There is not GridLineColore
on the HeaderRow class.2. How can I change a single cell’s border color
3. You refer to the MergedDataCell but I failed to find any information on
it in the documentation. Do you have any examples of how to use it.Thanks

Hi,
If you need help to better understand how to override the Cell class, please let us know. Perhaps we take for granted that these concepts are understood by our customers, my apologies. If you wish, please send me the request directly at matt@xceedsoft.com and I will do the best I can to explain how to do this.
Though I must admit my answers were short, I do not think it is fair to say that we ignored your request when my turn around response was within 2-3 hours.
I will be anticipating your email.
Best regards,
Mathieu Drimonakos

I have had a much better experience. Once I got into the system – seemed to take a day or so (although maybe Monday was a holiday in Canada like it was here), support has been good.
I have been “more than a little cranky” and in spite of that, responses have been progressional. I just received some sample code to a problem I had and the code was quite clear and includes some things I did not ask about that will be of future use.

I’ve been using Xceed.Grid for over a year now, and I’ve used the support-form a lot. I must say that most of my problems were solved rather quickly. Some I had to solve myself, but those were usually very specific problems caused by not only the GridControl, but also my own code.
I conclude that Xceed-support is good to very good.Imported from legacy forums. Posted by Tommy (had 3968 views)
