Has anyone gotten a class not registered error when trying to dynamically add the SmartUI control onto a form?

Option Explicit
Dim WithEvents ctlDynamic As VBControlExtender

Private Sub Form_Initialize()
Dim blVal As Boolean

blVal = XceedSmartUI.License(“SUI20-84XBD-Y4ZJ5-FA5A”)
End Sub

Private Sub Form_Load()
Set ctlDynamic = Controls.Add(“XceedSmartUI.SmartItem”, “ctlTree”, frmOptions) ***Errors out on this line****

End Sub

What are you trying to do?

You know that most of the times is much more easy to use control arrays?

that’s exactly what I’m trying to do but not 100% sure how to go about it. Do you have an example I can look over?

Just a simple sample.

Put a Label control on a Form.
Set it’s Index to 0.
Now you have create a control array.

In your code you can load new instance of the control:

‘ Load new instance
Load Label1(1)
‘ Set some properties
Label1(1).Caption = “New control”
Label1(1).Visible = True

Now the events for this Label control will have an extra parameter “Index” which will indicate which control in the array caused the Event.
