I have just converted over from using the Xceed ActiveX component to using the .NET component. I am writing a simple application to zip multiple files and then remove the zipped files from their original directory (list of files in A; some of files in A get zipped into B; delete files zipped out of A). The ActiveX component provides an AddFilesToZip() method and seems to run much faster than the “new” .NET version of my application. I was wondering if anyone knows of an equivalent in the Xceed .NET component to the AddFilesToZip()? Right now I am just using the MoveTo(), which works just fine, but seems to slow everything down in comparison. My main goal is to speed up processing – any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    sp

First, you could use a MemoryFolder as your temp folder, as explained <a href=”http://www.xceedsoft.com/kb/results.aspx?id=443″>here</a&gt;.

Then, make sure you call BeginUpdate before the first “MoveTo”, and call EndUpdate only after the last MoveTo, as explained <a href=”http://www.xceedsoft.com/kb/results.aspx?id=386″>here</a&gt;.
