We have current applications using grid version 2.5 and have upgraded our license to grid version 3.0. Before we migrate the existing apps to the new grid version, we need to know if there are any known issues for doing this?

Is it as simple as removing the old grid and it’s references from the form. Then adding a new reference to the new grid version and replacing the grid on the form or is there more involved?

We just experimented with an app by removing the reference to 2.5 and adding to 3.0 and replaced the grid, but it is causing all kinds of errors. Has anyone migrated to the new version successfully?

    Thank you,

    Nathan

    Hi,

We just updated the package (January 27th, 2006) with a newer version of the Grid and the documentation. There should be less warnings when you compile, and the documentation has more information about what has changed and what you need to change.

    Download it from: http://www.xceedsoft.com/download/updates.aspx

In the manual, check the “Changes” section (last item in the table of contents) and look at the “Changes since v2.5” section and also the Migrating to v3.0 section.

If you are using the older editors extensively, we have a sample almost ready to send out that will demonstrate how the new ones work and what changes to make, to supplement the documentation.

    Thanks Odi,

We got it figured out…it wasn’t a problem with the grid after all.

    Thanks for your reply.
