In my application, the first row in the grid becomes current row and the selectionbackcolor changes.

I dont want to change the selectionbackcolor automatically unless a click event occured.

How to avoid the first row becomes currect row automatically?

At the end of the Form Load, you need to explicitly specify it:

private void Form1_Load( object sender, EventArgs e )
{
//At the end of the Form_Load
gridControl1.SelectedRows.Clear();
gridControl1.CurrentRow = null;
}
