Having trouble getting the Input Validator to work with a bound Grid. I had no trouble setting it up with a textbox, but just can get it to work for the Grid. The sample project shows an unbound grid. Could you give me an example with a Grid tied to a dataset using vb.net?

    Thanks,
    Dan

You need to do exactly the same thing in a bound grid as is done in the unbound grid sample. That is, in the designer, right-click on the validationProvider1 icon, and select “Set Up Validation” from the menu.

In the Validation Configuration window, select the columns you want to validate, and simply setup the validation criterion through the different choices that are presented.

Here is a <a href=”http://www.xceedsoft.com/cs/download/XceedGrid/VisualBasicNet/VB2003_GRD_INV.zip “>sample</a> that shows this. The UnitsInStock column is taken as an example. It is set so that any value that is not between 0 and 1000 will invoke the validation error.

I am also trying to bind a dataset to a grid and use validation.

But the dataset used by my application is not known at design time.  At runtime, the application will bind the grid to a dataset and create new validation criteria.

Can someone give me some tips on how I might accomplish this successfully?

    Thanks
