Is it possible to run two version of the xceed grid side-by-side?

We have an environment where we can’t update the large majority of our users with the newer versions of the xceed grid, but have new software created for us that requires the new version.

We do not support the side by side installation and we do not intend to in the future.

Since only one version of our package can be installed in the GAC at a time, this would possibly cause issues.

Isn’t the point of the GAC so that you can install multiple versions without having to worry about versioning issues?

You are right Christian, maybe my post was a little confusing.

We do not support the installation of our packages (1.1 and 2.0) in a side by side fashion, we do not recommend it. However, it is possible to have both versions of the grid installed in the GAC.

If you install our latest <a href=”http://download3.xceedsoft.com/Packages/ServicePacksNET11/Xceed.Components.SP.NET1.1.7355.exe”>service pack</a>, a read me will help you go through the side by side installation.
