I’ve searched the online documentation, http://doc.xceedsoft.com/products/XceedFileSystem/

I haven’t been able to find details regarding the logging features of Xceed FTP for .NET.

I want to know what the API looks like, what the logging format looks like, what events does it log, etc.

Can someone point me to a detail resource describing the logging features of Xceed FTP for .NET?

    Thanks…

There’s only one property you can use, and it serves the purpose of logging the communication between the client and the server.

    FtpClient.TraceWriter = new StreamWriter( @”D:\ftp.log” );

You can look at the following topic from the documentation.

    http://doc.xceedsoft.com/products/XceedFileSystem/Xceed.Ftp~Xceed.Ftp.FtpClient~TraceWriter.html

Here is a typical output :

    < 220 Microsoft FTP Service
    > USER DCBA
< 331 Password required for DCBA.
    > PASS xxxx
< 230 User DCBA logged in.
    > PWD
    < 257 “/” is current directory.
    > CWD /private
    < 250 CWD command successful.
    > PWD
    < 257 “/private” is current directory.
    > TYPE I
    < 200 Type set to I.
    > PASV
    < 227 Entering Passive Mode (213,215,226,106,19,148).
    > STOR done.txt
< 125 Data connection already open; Transfer starting.
    < 226 Transfer complete.
    > QUIT
    < 221
