How can I position the legend of a graph so that it never overlaps the graph? It is OK for the legend and/or the graph to shrink so that both are accommodated in the chart control.
    Thanks

There is no automated way of doing this. You have to know the space they occupy and set them consequently.

    OK.
    1) How can I compute the space occupied by the legend?
    2) How can I set the space occupied by the chart? For simplicity, assume that the legends are always on the top and the chart is directly below the legends.

    3) I’d like the legends to occupy as little space as follows. In particular
    a) No gridlines, and no space reserved for gridlines.
    b) Maximum number of legend entries per line, wrapping to the next line. The current row/column scheme does not seem to support this.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Hi: I’ve gotten around most of the issues by creating a custom control to display legends that I layout myself.
I’m down to only one issue, with multiple y axes: what is the Axis.PositionOffset relative to? Is it a number of pixels, a percentage of the chart margin width, a percentage of the chart client width, or something else?
    Thanks
