I have a simple problem I’m hoping you can answer for me.

I have a GridControl that populates its data from a response it receives from a server. I want to allow the user to drilldown on any given row which screams DetailGrid. However, the details that would go into the DetailGrid are not (or rather should not) known until there is a request for that data.

So, is there any way for me to bind a DetailGrid to the GridControl and initialize it only when the handle is expanded. Actually I’m fine with just knowing when the parent exposes DetailGrid (is the visible property enough for this) and I’ll do my own internal mechanics.

    Thanks in advance.

For each row add at least one detail grid. That will show the plus/minus thingy. Then each detail grid raises the CollapsedChanged event or OnCollapsedChanged method for inherited DetailGrids. Perform all your lookup code in there and add any extra detail grids for further drill down.

    Something like that anyway.
