I’m implementing my own custom Text Row, and on the help says:

Do you want to use your Row class in the Grid Designer? A public constructor that takes a RowSelector object as a parameter must be added to your class.

After doing this, how can I use my text row in the Designer??? Do you have a sample for this?

    Hi Martha,

You still won’t be able to add your custom row to the designer at design time. However, you WILL be able to see it at design time if you added it to your form’s .class and instantiated it correctly in your InitializeComponent function.

An easy way to use it at design time would be to add a normal text row to the grid, then switch to code view. Search for the textRow’s name and change the object type from Xceed.Grid.TextRow to your own class name. Afterward, compile and switch back to the designer. You will see your custom text row in the gridControl and will be able to set it’s exposed properties at design time.

    Cheers ! 8)
