I am developing an app that FTP’s a file from a WinXP environment to an AS400 library. I have been given the following CMD promt FTP example to show the format of the command to transfer a file to a library (I know nothing about AS400s) which I have tested and works 100%…

    PUT C:\TESTFILE WILKID00/TESTFILE

I am using the following VB code to FTP my file but am told by the AS400 guys that the file is being sent to a folder and not a library (whatever the difference is)…

Dim ftpCnn As New FtpConnection(FTPServer, UserName, Password)
    Dim dfSourceFile As New DiskFile(SourceFile)
Dim ffFTPFolder As New FtpFolder(ftpCnn, FTPSubFolder)
    dfSourceFile.CopyTo(ffFTPFolder, True)

Does anyone have any suggestions/experience in transferring to an AS400 lib?

    Many thanks

    Peter

You need to use the FtpClient class instead of the FtpConnection class. When using the FileSystem (thus the FtpConnection) interface, it does actually create a folder.
