    I have the following setup:

    <Grid.Resources>
    <local:RatingComparer x:Key=”ratingComparer”/>
    <local:ManagedComparer x:Key=”managedComparer”/>

    <xcdg:DataGridCollectionViewSource x:Key=”dgcvs_programs”
    Source=”{Binding Path=Programs, ElementName=GamesPage, Mode=Default}”>
    <xcdg:DataGridCollectionViewSource.GroupDescriptions>
    <local:RatingGroupDescription PropertyName=”rating”
    SortComparer=”{StaticResource ratingComparer}”/>
    <local:ManagedGroupDescription PropertyName=”managed”
    SortComparer=”{StaticResource managedComparer}”/>
    </xcdg:DataGridCollectionViewSource.GroupDescriptions>
    </xcdg:DataGridCollectionViewSource>
    </Grid.Resources>

    <xcdg:DataGridControl Name=”Games_DataGrid” SelectionMode=”Single” NavigationBehavior=”RowOnly” ItemsSource=”{Binding Source={StaticResource dgcvs_programs}}” ReadOnly=”True”>

    Both of the GroupDescriptions I have there are enabled when the page is loaded up – linked rating -> managed. I’d like to either have nothing in the grouping box, or have another one altogether (like a column fieldnamed “type”). Is this just some easy thing I’m not catching?

    Thanks,
    Brad

    p.s. This Xceed DataGrid is saving my life!

    I am not sure I understand your question. There is currently an issue with custom groups where they are not “reused” after grouping modifications are made that is currently being worked on.

    If this is not your case, would it be possible for you to provide more information in regards to the issue you are experiencing.

    I guess the best way to explain it is with a picture.

    <a href=”http://tasteofjc.com/brad/xdg_default_grouping.png”>xdg_default_grouping.png</a&gt;

    Here you see it automatically grouping on the two custom GroupDescriptions I have in my DataGridCollectionViewSource, namely:

    <local:RatingGroupDescription PropertyName=”rating”
    SortComparer=”{StaticResource ratingComparer}”/>

    and

    <local:ManagedGroupDescription PropertyName=”managed”
    SortComparer=”{StaticResource managedComparer}”/>

    Both columns are typeof Images, so a custom grouping is needed.

    What I want is by default not group on anything, like this:
