    In my code I set the column color propert for a column, and then set the properties of the column manager row to a different color expecting that the column manager color would override the column color for ONLY the column manager cells(column titles).  What I get is that for the column that I changed the backcolor property the column header for that column is the color of the column and not the column manager back color.

    How do I force the column manager setting to override the column setting?  I want the columnmanager colors to remain in tack but only have the cells in the column colored by the column backcolor setting.

    You must set it explicitly on the ColumnManagerCell, and not on the ColumnManagerRow.

    e.g.:

    columnManagerRow1.Cells[ 0 ].BackColor = headerColor;
