We are using .NET version 2.0 in our Web Application to save attachments to a SQL database. We have a VB 6.0 client application which we were using Active X version 4.x or older and the communication of opening attachments worked fine. We since upgraded to version 5.x and now have seen a break in compatibility which doesn’t allow for either to open the saved attachments created in the other. For example created in 2.x -> open fails in 5.x or created in 5.x -> fails in 2.x applications. Has anybody seen these results?

If you’re not making zip files larger than 4 gigs, or with more than 65535 files, both products should be compatible, though extra headers are not supported with the .NET version. But it should simply ignore extra headers and unzip files just fine.

Is upgrading to 5.0 the only change you made on the VB6 side? Can you contact <mail>support@xceedsoft.com</mail> about this, with an attachment example from both sides if possible?

    Thank you.
