i’m trying to put a button beside the contents of a cell so that when click I can put a popup of options to select from then update the cell with the selected item. i’ve capture the click event on the button but can’t figure out how to access the cell directly to read and/or update the value….

The most efficient way to access the Cell content would be to include your button in the CellEditor for the column and bind the Content or Tag of the button to the Cell’s Content by using the CellEditorBindingExtension (“{xcdg:CellEditorBinding}”).

That way, you don’t really need to access the underlying cell…

If you still want to access the underlying cell, then you should use the VisualTreeHelper.GetParent() function, starting from your button, until you hit a DataCell object.
